The brief
Venezia has served St. Armands Circle since 1966 and has thousands of Google reviews. I wanted to see what its website could feel like if it carried the warmth of the room, using only the restaurant’s own photos and menu.
What I built
A WebGL fire burns behind the oven mouth while embers rise into the room. Scroll and you push into the fire; four pizzas come out on the peel with a swinging order ticket. A cloud of flour settles into a Carrara marble counter that holds the full menu, 93 dishes with live search. The visit section draws St. Armands Circle from OpenStreetMap data.
Out of the fire, onto the peel
Four pizzas slide out of the oven one at a time while the order ticket swings on its rail and updates.
The whole menu, on marble
Ninety-three dishes with their real prices, a sticky Italian and English category rail and accent-insensitive search.
From the fire to the table
Each photo warms from the dark of the room to full exposure as it arrives. The restaurant’s own photos, sharpened.
